Some things are better aged… Cheese, wine, this podcast. But its still Monday so quit your whining! Thanks to Kish for coming on to help us fill in the gaps caused by Dani’s near absence this week, and thanks to that guy in the hotel room for being cool, for a while anyway. Come hear Liz get schooled on how to use profanity, Dani being more weird than usual, and Kish being horribly cold hearted about a deep seeded fear of mine.

You’ll have to forgive my slighty sloppier than usual editing job. It was honestly midnight before we even started recording last night, and if you’ll recall I have a life and kids and a demanding podcast wife. So, a wee little slack, please. :D

    Stuff we talked about:
    - Curious Case of Otalia
    - Scrambling for Scraps
    - Paley
    - Frankie gets down with his bad self
    - Brunch with Nicole Valentine (where in Bridget totally steals our interview questions but she does it in knee high socks so we’re fine with it)

    - Stuff we didnt talk about: We make shit happen again, our friend Keener is in for Venice. We can call her friend because she doesn’t check the site. I can tell you this much, she doesn’t get a gun. Clearly our T-shirt campaign needs work.

Yay! Downloading. I just have to say that if ya’ll didn’t talk/gag about Josh’s pubic chest hair, I’m going to be really disappointed. And two, we’re supposed to get a kiss this week right, since next week will be podcast number 20? ;)

    2. lana on Mon, 24th Aug 2009 7:16 pm

I knew I could count on Liz to bust her ass and get this up in time for me to take along on th eride home. PaaV girls officially rock.

    3. Lynda on Mon, 24th Aug 2009 9:44 pm

I figured the pic Natalia was holding for that “memories” scene was from 3/25 only cuz GL love to show off that New Years Eve Pic and they didn’t here.

      This is awesome

Right! Now I’m going to bed, it’s 3.45 in the am and the podcast took twice its runtime to properly aerate, savour and consume. PaaV the fine wine of podcasts.

Kish? you sound totally cute ;)

    4. notoaster on Mon, 24th Aug 2009 11:35 pm

In the beginning of the pod, Liz was referring to Young and the Restless. Adam(who is straight)kissed and had sex with his lawyer, Rafe. (who is gay) From what I know, it was more about manipulation then anything romantic.

Otalia: JL is gorgeous and I missed her, I admit it. Olivia cannot resist the force of Dimples.(Even if Dimples is acting like a super dumbass right now.)

I think Olivia should be angry(furious, really) with PregNat for ditching her. But at this point, I just want them together with a happy ending. (so sappy)

I’m wondering if Phillip and Rick will finally declare their love for each other before the show’s end. Maybe on Phillip’s deathbed? How tragically romantic.

      ah…so bipolar.

    5. Porter on Tue, 25th Aug 2009 12:40 am

Regarding Natalia’s painfully awkward entrance into Company on 8/21… my immediate reaction was that Jessica jumped her cue.

You can briefly see what looks like her cracking up as she mumbles sorry and turns away from Buzz. Her continued apologizes as she walks back to the door read, “sorry I effed up the scene, I’ll head back to my mark and we’ll start again,” but Frank D. and Justin D. ad-lib her back into the action without a cut.

Maybe Leccia forgot about the one take rule during her ML. :P

    6. Porter on Tue, 25th Aug 2009 1:51 am

The rest of my thoughts took some time to become fully realized because I kept getting distracted by JL’s be-dimpled face back on my screen. :p It’s just so good to see her!!

However, the return of Natalia only intensified my struggle with debilitating self-loathing because I still want to see these two assholes together.

That said, can’t we just FF> through all this dimly unrepentant Natalia vs. righteously angry Olivia crap because, while taking some time to process the consequences of Natalia’s stealth departure is very realistic, reality and this storyline went through a nasty break-up around the first week of June and are now just randomly hooking up to use each other for sex whenever they both find it convenient.

The only saving grace is watching JL and CC act their asses off trying to make a five-course meal out of the rotten table scraps they’ve been handed by the writers and looking devastatingly beautiful while doing so. I’ll just try to enjoy the pretty until Natalia stops saying ridiculous things and Olivia caves and stops looking so miserable.

Have some big love for Dani for gutting-out a pod after several days of traversing like 30 of the 50 states. Thanks, man. Also much love to Kish for working “bone up” into the conversation and to Liz for just being her insightful, snarktastic self. Awesome.

    7. stargazzer77 on Tue, 25th Aug 2009 3:10 am

This week was wierd for me, i was sooo happy natalia was back but i still spent the week screaming WTF! at the computer screen, i just can’t accept natalia’s total lack of reaction to olivia’s heartbreak, fucking dumb!!

Great podcast, just finished a night shift 8 in the morning, had me laughing out loud…

    8. Vicki on Tue, 25th Aug 2009 8:57 am

Well done ladies, another thoroughly entertaining podcast. I definitely looked a little crazy again on the bus ride in to work while I was grinning and giggling with no apparent reason to the causal observer.

Dani you scared me a little in the beginning…your voice was so resigned I thought maybe we Natalia’s return left you so empty that it stole your spark. I was so nervous that I clapped my hands incessantly because that’s what worked for Tinkerbell.
JK, you were obviously exhausted and of course last week’s scenes didn’t give much reason to be peppy, so thank you for risking ejection from your lodgings to give us the color commentary!

Liz, I’m not sure if you mentioned this but I know your keen eyes probably caughit it…how great was Olivia’s reaction when Natalia said “I’m sure you were wondering where I was” and Olivia looked like she was fighting a gag reflex over the word “wondering” when she said, ‘Yeah, I was wondering…” No Natalia, ‘wondering’ is what you do when you are mentally preparing a grocery list or trying to figure out if you should take the side streets to work or get on the highway and risk a clusterfuck of rush hour traffic. That’s what you ‘wonder’ about. When the love of your life up and leaves without any reason making the coded messages in the Da Vinci Code look clear and concise in comparison you don’t ‘wonder’ where she went, you flip the fuck out!
Batshit Crazy, table for one please!

    9. Heather on Tue, 25th Aug 2009 9:05 am

I have to say I wasn’t ready for my reaction to Nat being back on screen. I was all set to hate on her. I had my water balloons full of common sense prepared to launch at her, expecting that the contents would seep their way into her pores. And then…SQUEEEEEEE! It’s Natalia! What is wrong with me, for realz? It was just an initial reaction, though. I soon returned to a WTF-were/are-you-thinking mindset. I don’t know what to think anymore. Thanks for turning my brain into mush, GL writers.

About the “airport parking lot.” From what it looked like, they used the stone driveway at the side of The House that Wheeler Built aka FoL, Crosscreek, Bauer BBQ land, and Cooper Compound. I understand budget, but there ARE parking lots in Peapack that I’m sure you could have borrowed. Venture out.

Kish- Awesome fill-in, and your voice is still hot.

Dani- I must point out that your tired/trying-to-be-quiet-in-the-hallway-of-a-hotel voice really works for you, and may or may not have been working on me a little bit. (I am totally a voice whore.)

Liz- Does your fear of trains stem from Stand by Me or Fried Green Tomatoes? Guess your kids will have to buy their Thomas the Tank DVD’s out of the trunk of someone’s car, and huddle in a random closet to watch them.

Also, Liz, love you so much more for your dedication and for busting your ass to get this up for us yesterday. Hope you got some sleep last night. Stay classy ;)

      Peace, ladies.

    10. Lisa (Cartright) on Tue, 25th Aug 2009 9:09 am

Thanks so much for mentioning me in the podcast. First time ever talked about in a podcast. So happy!! (now I feel guilty and have to admit that I don’t actually know how many times Dani said “f you” to Liz. It was a lot, but I made up the number.

    11. Vicki on Tue, 25th Aug 2009 9:09 am

      To Portor:
You were right about the screw up in company:

I found this on the TWOP board

“[Frank Dicoupolis] tweeted last night that the scene in last Friday’s episode, where Natalia walks over to Buzz and Frank in Company, was a mistake, but they just kept going. “

    12. SelmaHinkley on Tue, 25th Aug 2009 1:41 pm

Liz, I’m totally on board with the Leccia love. That woman could do no wrong!!! She flashes a dimple and professes, “I love you,” and I’m putty.

Dani, I have a request. Could you do Friday’s show entirely in your Ms. Cleo voice? you had me rolling!

    13. Liz on Tue, 25th Aug 2009 2:04 pm

Tallulah- You know us better than to think we didnt discuss teh cheat hair. Gavomit.

      Lana- Thats basically true. ;)

Lynda- “Fine wine of podcasts” may just become our new tagline… Hmmm….

Toaster Struedle- Yeah, Y&R, sure. Stupid that manipulation and using someone to get ahead is better than two women in love… le sigh…

Porter- Nice call my friend. Natalia cant stay a moron forever and the writers could still dig themselves out. I am hoping they do, because ugh. And Dani deserves your big love. She hadnt slept well all week and was tired and yucky feeling and she is a real trooper and I am so thankful to her. I lucked out with such a great podcast wife.

Stargazzer- Im glad I’m not the only one completely torn and weirded out this week.

Vicki- Totally. Even Olivia can see how flippant and dismissive, and almost rude, Natalia is being. So not cool.

Heather- Im so glad so many people felt the same way I did! Haha. I was all, OMG its Natalia! Yay!!! Maybe I should go rewatch the BBQ week ala Kish. Seemed to help her… And nope, not from a movie. I really am terrified of trains though. And actually I’ve made my kids scared of them too, on accident. They arent really into Thomas but I can handle that- but they do like “Cars”. You know the scene (I know you do) where Lightening races the train and almost gets hit? Every SINGLE time I yell at them, “Never race a train!”. Now they all say it every time, and Lightening usually gets told to go to time out. lol I told the story but I cut it for time purposes.

Lisa- Dont tell her you didnt really count! Now she’ll feel less quilty and I’ll get fewer cookies. We would have never known! This week is crazy, we wouldnt have ehad time to go back and relisten for 100 years. lol And thanks for the pic link! I knew it was somewhere….

Selma- Our guest Friday may think Dani’s weird(er) if she uses her Miss Cleo voice. However, I can promise someone WILL use a starnge accent, even if I have to force her. Haha!

      XO

    14. Nik on Tue, 25th Aug 2009 5:54 pm

Lynda – Awwww, thinking of Natalia looking at that photo in particular really made me well up. Thanx for that insight :)

How frustrating is Nat at the moment? It’s like she’s robo-Natalia, showing all the outward signs of loving Olivia without connecting at all. So completely backwards from before she left, really, when she had 100% connection without any visible intimacy.

    15. Ana on Tue, 25th Aug 2009 7:08 pm

Liz – I am right with you on the waterworks when I first saw Nat back on screen, I was ready for Liv to forgive her right then, I did. But after the first couple of scenes this week, it just got really hard t watch, I felt really bad for JL, I mean it sounded like Nat left half her brain at the nunnery *ugh*

Dani – I give you full permission to say “hot snack” every other word on the next podcast, becuase if we have to hear Liz say the “P” word (not the good one), any more we will all be hot snacking. Come on, Liz, you said it at least 3-4 times this week, please refrain from using that word ever again, or ever mentioning that unholy night, when the newest member of the Coooper clan was conceived.

Another great podcast, you guys are truly AWESOME, working on this a 2am and Dani doing this in the middle of a hallway in a hotel, that’s love.

Just saying, whatever you guys want to talk about, I’ll be listening.

    16. Lana, Snapper, Whatever on Tue, 25th Aug 2009 8:26 pm

Liz – Rationalizing Natalia’s retarded, careless decision to see Father Ray and Blake before running directly to Olivia? Really? Maybe she wasn’t ready to see Olivia? Boo fucking hoo. There is no way to look at this that will make it ok. She needed to regroup with Blake and Ray? Use the fucking telephone like everyone else in the 21st century.

Natalia can kiss my ass. This sad mess has me more pissed off than I can even begin to say. All I can say is thank God we’re seeing some more Tina Sloan and Maeve Kinkead, and that Maureen Garrett is coming up this week, because Otalia blows. Oh, except for the fact that Olivia’s hair is full of win, and Emma’s horse, little voice is so cute.

That said, this was actually a great podcast. You guys are awesome.

    17. Dani on Wed, 26th Aug 2009 1:16 am

Hi lovelies! Dani is back in the building. Sorry for not doing comments and such for a bit, give Liz your love for handling the duties.

I will get to more specific responses tomorrow.

Who do I have to shag around here to get an Otalia kiss? I mean honestly.

    18. Lisa on Wed, 26th Aug 2009 10:13 am

Finally someone articulated what I hated about this week! Why why why are we suddenly back in March? I watched those scenes with Olivia telling Frank he should marry Natalia and thought I was having a flashback. WTF? Then Nat can’t even tell the hillbilly Coopers there will be NO wedding! Really? Good lord, I found myself agreeing with Marina of all people.

One month left and not only did we loose 6 months of character development on Natalia’s part, now we have to deal with the spawn of Furtz. The way they’re writing Nat these days makes me think this poor kid is going to be swimming in the shallow end of the gene pool. Let’s hope Olivia’s influence can tip the balance to nurture over nature.

      Love the podcast!

    19. Kristy on Wed, 26th Aug 2009 12:20 pm

I don’t buy any of this bullshit for a second.

      1) Olivia has no self control when it comes to Natalia. Period. We’ve been beaten over the head with that…but now all of the sudden she tells Natalia to take her “cookies” and go home. Not buying it. Olivia wants Natalia’s cookies. She would NEVER turn down Natalia’s cookies.

…or maybe it’s ME that would never turn down Natalia’s cookies.

Natalia could murder a puppy on my white carpet and I’d still want her cookies…and I’m an animal nut. I’m not saying I wouldn’t be mad at her, but I would wrestle her down and have my way with her cookies.

      2) Natalia thought about Olivia every second while she was away, wants to spend the rest of her life with her, and wants to share her child. Yet she’s cool with taking it nice and slow in earning Olivia’s forgiveness? Not buying it. Natalia would force Olivia to listen to her and would not leave or let Olivia walk away until there was a sufficient amount of hand holding and face touching.

      3) The fact that these two bitches don’t have their vag badges by now is rigoshdamndiculous.

      4) Rafe can suck my balls.

      5) I’ve only listened to the first half of the podcast…but so far, the sexual tension between Liz and Dani is palpable. This may be a much more entertaining storyline than this Otalia bullcrap. I’m terribly intrigued. Or jealous. I’m not sure which.

I’d better go spend some time with my sexy lawyer girlfriend before I blow it by lusting after you two tramps.

      Heart you. ;)

    20. Kishiyaya on Wed, 26th Aug 2009 3:04 pm

I just wanna say, PaaV fans are the best – I love reading all the comments: smart, clever, funny and when you see BS, you call it! Watching Olivia & Natalia continues to break my heart, and not in the good way it once did, but thankfully we all have Liz & Dani because they make the ride incredibly fun, and without them I’m not sure I would have survived it as long as I have. Remember when watching these two used to be fun/ rewarding all on their own? Yeah, its been a long, long time.

Liz and Dani are far too modest, because if you only knew the incredible circumstances behind this pod, you would then know the true meaning of the word awesome. In fact there was more drama behind this pod than the entire week of Otalia – for reals, I’m still amazed it happened. I was certainly giving Natalia a run for her money on the prayer department on whether Dani would make it, I cannot tell you how happy I was to hear her voice! And yes, I still laughed like a hysterical goofball when Dani unexpectedly segues to her Miss Cleo voice. And Liz, not only were you winning as always (can’t tell you how tempted I am to turn “Shitstorm!” into a ringtone), I don’t know how you managed to still pour editing genius into this one (when Liz says its 2am, that’s 2am Monday morning people!); it was all sorts of brilliant.

Lynda, Porter, Heather – thanks for the kind words. I would never pretend to be up to level of Liz & Dani; for myself its hard not to just wanna sit back and let them do their thing – its what made me an instant fan after stumbling upon their very first pod many moons ago, and hopefully we’ll get to continue to enjoy PaaV well after Sept 18. At this point, I’m just as passionate about PaaV as I am/was about GL, and that’s saying a lot, so whatever small thing I can do to support them, its time well, well spent.

    21. jen on Wed, 26th Aug 2009 8:54 pm

Kish, you said it better than I can. Liz and Dani have great chemistry, very honest entertainment with the over the top flirt going on. And, Kish…very sexy voice.

I’m having a great time with our girls. No spoilers for me…spoiler virgin, like snow white on her wedding night. I’m a die hard romantic…grew up reading Anne of Green Gables and moved right on to those stupid Harlequin romance books. The way that Olivia looks at Natalia…woman in love have never been represented in such a visceral way.

If this story line helps one teenage girl feel a little better about her weird feelings about her best friend…it will have all been worth it.

That said…it could have been finished with a lot more class.

Liz…I can’t believe you agree with my ex wife. I was not on a date. How can I be on a date if I didn’t know it??? That was a clueless cop story not a bad date story…damn
      Jen

    22. JCF on Wed, 26th Aug 2009 10:13 pm

Oh PaaV, I wish I could quit you. :-(

Liz&Dani, you still bring da funny (and Kish, you’re a nice addition).

But I’m just on such a different page from most (all?) of y’all here.

With the SINGLE exception of Olivia pushing Frank towards Natalia again on Wednesday (WTF? Thankfully, that beat of the sl seemed to have been dropped, for good, by Friday!), and Rafe’s, well, Rafe-ness (Does anyone else think that King Oedipus has NUTHIN’ on Natalia’s baby boy, w/ the f’ed-up over-involvement w/ his “Maaaaaa!”), I loved EVERYTHING about last week’s Otalia. Yes, Olivia’s tank-top&cargo pants ensemble. Yes, Natalia’s back-turning in the park (Think “Boxing Match”: Natalia has just gone to her corner to re-group). Yes, EVERYTHING about the way Natalia is explaining herself to Olivia. Love her (Me! Me! Me!) or hate her, I see her explanation (content&method) as entirely consistent w/ Who Natalia Is (both prior to her departure, and now). The Oblivious Clueness/Clueless Obliviousness? That you KNOW is going run off the tracks when it hits Roadblock (Trackblock? Sorry, Liz! ;-) ) Olivia? That’s precisely WHO Olivia fell in love with.

I mean, hey, roll your eyes at Olivia’s “Smart (Sexy!) Woman, Foolish Choices” Schtick, but gf wubs her lil’ Catholic Space Cadet (so do I—or did I already mention it? ;-D)

Has anyone else (Myers-Briggs) “Typed” Our Grrlz?

Natalia is a CLASSIC “S”: Sensate type. Not a clue-bone (Ew, now I said “bone”!) in her body. [I'm guessing ISFJ: an SJ totally fits the (formerly) rigid Catholicism]

Natch’, Olivia is an “N” [ENFJ, I would guess]. Nat’s “S” drives Liv’s iNtuitivity crazy . . . but that’s in BOTH senses of crazy ;-p (Damn you CBS censors, we only get to see the bad kind of crazy!)

Bottomline: love you guys (all you PaaV people) . . . but you’re killing my buzz. Otalia Rocks . . . Yes, including the writers (when the editors don’t cut it all to sh*t anyway). ‘Nuff said (Maybe you can serve me some Kool-Aid next week? ;-) )

    23. Liz on Wed, 26th Aug 2009 10:46 pm

Nik- Super frustrating. Its really not ok.

Ana- Yay for criers! I will try to pull back on the P word. It just happens man. Just happens. I have sons. Penises are part of my life….

Lana- obviously I didnt make my point well in the middle of the night. But whatevs. I didnt think she needed to re group, I think she needed to touch base with her contact people. blahblahblah, how much do I love that Lillian is the total peace maker for everyone right now? A lot.

Dani- <3 Take off your pants and tell me I’m pretty.

Lisa- I dont know what we are doing back in March. Apparently because the show was amazing back then the writers plan to recapture that by doing it again, which is fine- but makes no damn sense.

      Kristy-
      1. I think Olivia actually has a ton of self control when it comes to Nat, and when it comes to self preservation. Olivia doesnt get weak, doesnt feel pain when others tell her to- she does it on her own schedule. She would tell Natalia to F off at this point, so I’m fine with that.
      2. I dont know about that either. To me, Natalia knows just how much to push Olivia, and is doing it pretty well. Olivia is too external, she will probably be getting lots of outside voices telling her to go for it with Nat soon, and thats how things will heal. I dont think Nat pushing would help. But, what do I know?
      3. Ditto.
      4. Ditto.
      5. Ooops. Sorry about that. We’ll try to hold back the flirting next week. Or at least make Dani sing “Its getting hot in heer” again.
      Hi Kristy’s hot girlfriend!!

Kish- You are impossibly awesome and we love ya bunches. Thank you so much for your friendship and support, we are so blessed to have you. Mushy stuff mushy stuff. <3 We’ll see you soon hot stuff! I’ll owe you a mojito for helping out this week.

Jen- Its only a date because it’s funny as hell to call it that. Haha! This storyline, even if it is ending in a way that we’re not in love with- has done a ton of good for sure. We appreciate its contribution for sure, which is why we’re still talking about it. And the flirting- that keeps me coming back. ;) How cute is flirty Dani?

JCF- Im glad you can’t quit us. Even if we disagree, we’re glad to have your thoughts babe! Sorry to kill your buzz though. :)

Y’all are really too sweet. We love you guys!

      XO Liz

    24. Lana, Snapper, Whatever on Thu, 27th Aug 2009 1:39 am

Liz – I still think you need a Natalia intervention. And I still maintain that I can quit Olivia any time I feel like it…i just don’t feel like it right now.

I liked today’s Natalia a whole lot more. JL deserves a lot better than coming back from maternity leave to play a moronic bitch. Today’s Nat was a lot more like the Nat I like..and she indicated a little bit of self-awareness, which goes a long way.

    25. maggie23 on Thu, 27th Aug 2009 8:26 am

i am so behind – just catching up now…imagine, life actually existing outside of otalia…i know! so most of what i write is going to be redundant i suppose, but i’m hoping it may be cathartic.

i am sooooo hanging my head about this s/l right now. the only good things this week are 1. i just so love to see them together, and b. i am a paav whore (pants still on though) and y’all never fail to come through. i heart you so much for keeping it so funny and entertaining and snarky and witty…and dani phoning it in is obviously NOT the same as everyone else on gl (except cc) phoning it in…what a fucking sad hot heaping mess of bullshit…pod natalia has returned as moron dumbass totally assassinated character natalia… throw away scenes that seem like filler which all make me pitch a fit because, in case they need a clue, YOU’RE RUNNING OUT OF TIME YOU ASSHATS!!! choppy editing that makes no freakin’ sense … shitty douchy music … continuity issues up the whazzoo (who knows how to spell that?) … and the value village wardrobe? wtf??? they obviously sold off all of liv’s sharp, sexy clothes during the same yard sale that saw them liquidate all of the handheld camera tripods … either that or they have already let all of the camerapeople go and emma is on a stepstool pulling double duty. actually, maybe she’s directing the scenes too? hmmm…ice cream and popsicles and teetertotters, oh my…

seriously though, i really feel like every person other than cc and jl (who still seem committed to this sl and their fans) has already closed the book on the g/l chapter in their lives, and their hearts and minds seem to have moved on to whatever next project they have lined up in their futures. so not win….and further!!! this is all making my life hell since my partner (she of the “i can’t believe you’ve for this exploitive/homophobic/misogynistic/harmful to queers and women in general sl” sentiment) is so singing the “i told you so” song…recall the scene of nat outside looking at the photo? i’m like, awww, she’s gushing over the family pic of her and emma and liv, and she’s like, no, it’s the sonogram of the frankenspawn……i’m so not taking my pants off for her either.

this is from my first otalia post on ae:

“…as lesbians – we are so starved for mainstream tv s/l’s that actually speak to us that we are willing to settle for anything that might remotely reflect our lives, our relationships (be they romantic or otherwise – i’m even including the in-depth exploration of intimate, platonic friendships among women, straight or gay) that i become so completely drawn into the outcome of this storyline. having said that, i can’t stop watching – whether it ends up becoming a fantastic tale of love or, at the end of the day, an horrific train wreck… but it’s so sad that we have to pay such a high price, and I don’t want to settle for crumbs…”

*walks among the wreckage looking for crumbs*

thought that’d make me feel better…
      not so much :(

liz, i really miss hearing you say ‘this is really layered’ too…

dani – your rooftop date to make it up to liz better not be breakfast – unless it’s after a wild night of eating muffins – er,cookies – in bed…

    26. Kristy on Thu, 27th Aug 2009 9:08 am

Liz- I actually agree with you that Olivia has self control with Natalia. She’s caring and sensitive and loving, and from what I gather, is known for being a selfish, self-serving betch. She’s the complete opposite of that with Natalia …but what I meant was that Olivia totally had no self control regarding Nat while Nat was away. She completely lost herself…then we’re expected to believe that she pulled herself together in five minutes when Emma came home from Gaytropolis…er San Francisco? (Go Giants by the way! Kung Fu Panda rocks!) Hello? Olivia dumps her kid on the first warm body she comes across! That said, I don’t see how we can be expected to believe that she…ugh, you know what? F it.

My heart isn’t in complaining anymore. I’m loving Otalia this week and I take it all back.

I actually squealed yesterday and had to pause it to regain my composure when I saw Natalia appear behind Olivia. I’m pretty sure she sprouted wings for a second.

      So beautiful.

Anyway, the point is, I think we’re all communicating some kind of frustration in one way or another. But, we can wait. We’re really patient. We love each other and we can work it out. :)

I’ve been re-watching old clips (again) and included a few from Gus’s death and Natalia’s obvious pain. That is the kind of reaction I’d like to see from Natalia – a chance for JL to show Nat truly scared that Olivia (and her plan) will leave. She can do heartbreak and angst, and we’re not getting that from the character. There’s no real sense of the kind of desperation that Olivia went through at the thought of the relationship being over. Those little moments where Olivia lets her control slip and lets the love shine?…. should not be reassuring Nat, they should be scaring her. If Olivia so obviously loves her and still has the strength to pull back, then maybe Nat’s not really ‘hearing’ her, and it’s more than she ‘waited a little to long’. Her little gestures are meaningless. Olivia has to see the same need and desperation and panic over this that she felt, and JL is capable of delivering that. It’s the only way I think Olivia could start to rebuild some of her trust.

Speaking of Olivia letting the love show, I think I have rewatched the elevator scene from this week maybe more than any other clip (or it’s at least tied with the bench scoot).

Liz – have at it re the slogan, it’s more than apt … btw I see you now and you are an unabashed flirt girlfriend. I like that about you ;) .

Dani – If shagging anyone around here would have gotten us an Otalia kiss we’d be up to full on sex romps by now. But I know you mean in which case you’d likely have to give it up to some asinine CBS chauvinist and I’m not okay with that. Not. At. All. We’d be better served holding those asshats to ransom … who am I kidding, no one would bail them out.

Nik – I unashamedly well up thinking of that scene myself. I’m a sap when Natalia complements Olivia like that because aside from the fact it doesn’t happen enough, the way she says how beautiful her paramour is, is so imbued with love…. which is why the wooing works for me in the current storyline and as awesome as their “connection without any visible intimacy” was, I imagine actualized physical expression to be nigh on ethereal.

Kristy – about point 1: yeah definitely you :P … Olivia said no to those cookies cuz those aren’t regular cookies, oh no, they’re magic cookies which spur marriage proposals and doe eyed fawning. Olivia is powerless enough already.

Kish – I didn’t realize a person made of pure marsmallowy goodnees/softness could prevail in such a cruel ass world :D .

Lana – You Rule! Nuff said.

      Fun pod!

The parking lot is just another example of lazy writing… if you don’t have a lot, don’t write a scene that takes place in one!!

I think I would have liked the Josh/Olivia bedroom scenes if Josh’s chest hair hadn’t been that distracting… seriously, does it grow like that naturally? And if it doesn’t, why on earth would you groom it like this???

I don’t like the Nat that returned… even her dimples don’t make up for the fact that she’s behaving so, well, I can’t think of a nice word…

However, there was a report on NPR that a couple of Catholic nunneries are under review by the Catholic church for, well, I’m not exactly sure what, but for offences against Catholic teachings or the Catholic Church in general… I’m pretty sure Natalia was at one of those if she’s coming back determined to be with Olivia ;)
