#21 – we’re legal! Or something. There are several things of import this week: Olivia’s fantastic wardrobe, Frank and the Coopers being reasonable, and most importantly, the end of this ridiculous Otalia separation. Warning: we will be discussing hot and sexy…headbutts. Under 17, listen at your own risk!

We’ve decided to dedicate our Friday pod to Doris Wolfe, so hold onto your Doris/Blis/whatever comments until then. Cool? Cool.

Didn’t you love how Nat had no concern whatsoever for what was going on at Company when she walked in to tell Frank about the sonogram? She’s like, “Oooookay. Peace out, freakshows.”

Liz – C&C Music Factory FTW.

    2. Lana, Snapper, Whatever on Tue, 8th Sep 2009 9:41 am

Lana lies? Lana lies????? Fighting words.

I was so not lying about Grant Aleksander that you’ve both switched sides about him.

I was so not lying about Josh that Dani has come around to seeing that he’s skeevy and lecherous (Liz must like the creepy stalker type)

I am so not lying about Matt being hot.

Matt was downright beautiful in 1994, and Matt and Vanessa were ridiculously hot together. At least as hot as Otalia, and they actually kissed and did all sorts of headbutting.

Great podcast. Have to talk to Dani for a minute. Dani – come on – do the Miss Cleo impersonation. I don’t think that it was too big of a request from Liz.

Top Ten diseases that could be killing Philip Spaulding:

      10) Ebola
      09) SARS
      08) West Nile Virus
      07) Rabies
      06) Hemorrhagic Fever
      05) Measles, Mumps and/or Rubella
      04) Legionnaire’s Disease
      03) Leprosy
      02) Staphylococcus
      01) Toxic Shock Syndrome

    5. lana on Tue, 8th Sep 2009 4:11 pm

The funniest thing about Phillip’s mystery disease is that he looks so freaking good and robust. He looks almost as good as Olivia did in that scene where she’s just found out she has only weeks to live, and she meets Rick on a park bench. She’s supposed to be gravely ill, but she looks so fucking hot – I’m not sure she’s ever looked *better*. Phillip is like that – if not for the light cough, and the falling-while-chasing-a-car incident, I’d assume that guy was the picture of health. (Y’all do know Grant is like 50, right? he’s clearly drinking from the same fountain as Maureen Garrett.)At least he doesn’t seem to have a made-up blood type, like some *other* soap characters who shall remain nameless.

Also, if it’s airborne and infectious, why isn’t his disease contagious?

    6. Kristy on Tue, 8th Sep 2009 6:45 pm

Ten more suspects under investigation for the attempted murder of Philip Spaulding:

      10) The Bends
      09) Cholera
      08) Tourette Syndrome
      07) Tonsilitis
      06) Pink Eye
      05) Scoliosis
      04) The Clap
      03) Irritable Bowel Syndrome
      02) Whooping Cough
      01) Dyslexia

    7. tallulah71 on Tue, 8th Sep 2009 7:38 pm

I had a friend who died from Dyslexia. He thought the sign said POTS, so he kept going and was smashed by an eighteen wheeler.

Nice pod, super chicks. The baby as collateral damage cracked me up. So wrong, yet so funny.

    8. dj on Tue, 8th Sep 2009 9:21 pm

Lana does lie about Josh. I am so with Liz on this one.

Philip totally has Abdominal chemodectomas with cutaneous angiolipomas.

    9. SelmaHinkley on Tue, 8th Sep 2009 10:10 pm

[re: Ms. Cleo] Damn it, Danny. Just do the voice. Please. Pretty please. With sprinkles.

“Crickets” I totally use that in real conversations. I thought I was the only one. huh.

[re: headbutt] I don’t understand what the big deal is with having them kiss. I used to be okay with the pussyfooting when I saw how caustic the anti-gay viewers were being on the cbs board, as if the writers had to pander to both audiences. But now that the show’s cancelled, it doesn’t make sense. The ratings don’t mean crap anymore. And if the sponsors of All My Children weren’t damaged by the Reese/Bianca kissing/allusions-to-sex, I don’t understand why the sponsors for GL would care. *sigh* I’m mostly bummed because this is practically the only lesbian couple on television right now, and their acts of intimacy mirror what my 5-year-old sister does with her school mates. Ugg.

Have to say. I really didn’t listen to you guys until you got all the awesome ladies of GL literally, on your podcast as well as Keener. I can totally see why, you bitches are hilarious! lol. Sorry I found you guys so late in the game. I hope you continue to do podcasts for venice or something else because you two rock!

    11. Chi on Wed, 9th Sep 2009 7:31 am

So far I think Kristy’s list of possible diseases that are killing Phillip is my favorite, especially 01) Toxic Shock Syndrome.

Also I’ve decided that all headbutts/face touching/hugs will now be substituted for hot make out scenes…well at least in my head.

    12. amyloo on Wed, 9th Sep 2009 1:30 pm

love this podcast! this is now the only one i listen to cuz y’all are freakin’ hysterical and sexy.

anyways, just thought i’d put in my $0.02 about olivia not calling natalia before her date with matt and why: i think she did it because she totally needed natalia to see her so that she could ram home the point about it being a date. i agree, however, that it’s a pretty shitty thing to do to a pregnant woman who’s just been tossed a bone and is inordinately happy about it.

thank you natalia for not paying any attention to olivia’s feeble attempts to distract her from her mission! i have so loved getting the real natalia back again instead of the pod person/jellyfish/deer caught in the headlights that we’ve seen in the last 9 months!

    13. Kristeena on Wed, 9th Sep 2009 2:13 pm

I like to tell myself that Natalia and Olivia have long makeout sessions off screen because they’re just too damn hot to show on television period. But that’s just the helpless nerd in me. I’m suprised you guys did mention the incident on 8/31/09 when Olivia was changing… it must have been cold in the studio that day.

OH and here’s some randomn CC interview but it’s cool because at like 55 seconds we get to see pregnant olivia chuck a buqouet out the beacon door while edmund and reva’s sister watches.

Okay had to come back I found two awsome videos I think you guys would enjoy.
1.Music Blame it (on the alcohol) by Jamie Foxx. Otalia video.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otDs4zw11w0

2.Otalia to Venice Video there are some very interesting things going on about a minute into the video. I’m not even sure the show was taping when this was going down. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kNsiXH2xhRc

    15. crystaleyesed on Fri, 11th Sep 2009 7:13 pm

Kristeena- The show was not taping during that clip in the second video. They were saying goodbye to each other. You can see the original here.
      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMIm2BU2gwc

I’m caught up on most of the PaaV podcasts and now have a new phrase stuck in my head. “That’s not ok.” Thanks for that, Liz.

I’m also paying more attention to details. Like in yesterday’s episode, Olivia told Frank to put the box he was carrying in Emma’s room when it was clearly marked LR for living room. He should have been carrying the one that was on the ground next to Olivia that said KID’S (’cause it would have been too much work to write Emma’s name) BEDROOM on it as big as day.

Anyway, thanks for bringing the funny on these podcasts. I hate that I’m just now discovering it when GL is about to be over, but better late than never, right?
